Part Three…The First Awakening

The Divine Flame Lives Within

Those from the community, who choose to, walked Llaa to the end of the Known which was many miles to the East. There was a cliff here and the land dropped off hundreds of feet below where the ocean roared and dashed against the rock face. All that could be seen was ocean from this cliff, and Llaa was allowed to do anything but walk back along the path they had all traveled.

Llaa's Mother was among the community that day as were two of the Fathers, the one with skilled hands and the one with the laugh that quieted and soothed, two males, three females and Llaa's sister, the sixth child. Of those in this group, it was the sixth child who understood Llaa the best. She had *Faith in Llaa but didn't know this yet. Llaa's Mother brought her Hope that there would be a sign that Love was indeed present in Llaa, some last sign, but it did not present itself.

On this day at mid day, Llaa was given some berries, nuts and a sort of sun-baked dry bread wrapped in an animal skin, and they all turned away heading back towards home. Llaa's Mother's tears slowly moved down her face as her steps carried her away from Llaa who would surely meet death. The sixth child turned back to face Llaa as the others continued. Her face was a mixture of confusion, Hope and sadness. She let her tears be seen, but Llaa did not respond. The call to move towards the Unknown pulled at Llaa's spirit. The sixth child was acknowledged for her Kindness and Heart then dismissed with *Gratitude for her concern. Llaa's destiny loomed somewhere beyond what was Known.

“I will miss you sixth child,” Llaa thought, “but I am no longer of your world.”

With that thought, Llaa turned to consider the direction to travel. The choices were left or right. Ahead was the ocean, behind was forbidden. To choose ‘right' or South would move Llaa back to the ocean with the known schools of fish. Llaa choose ‘left' which was North. The sixth child watched Llaa depart with a heavy Heart for the loss then hurried to join the community.

Llaa followed the cliff's edge without fear, pausing often to contemplate the nature of things, but never food or shelter. To Llaa, *Faith was present, a noble supportive companion on this un-traveled path. Nothing else mattered or was needed.

On that first day, the land began to change in ways Llaa didn't know and this was exciting! There were fewer trees and there were tall mountains appearing on the horizon. Llaa had only known ocean as horizon. This new vision was a marvel and a joy! The world was opening for Llaa with two horizons. To the East was the ocean, bold and majestic, hundreds of feet below, and to the North were tall mountains, beckoning. Stopping to breathe deeply of new smells carried on the wind, Llaa was filled with the Newness and was Joyful. A moth landed on Llaa's hand while eating berries late the first night at dusk, and Llaa whispered to it, “Beauty,” and it became a spoken word,

On the second day, Llaa had to detour from following the cliff face as the edge became rocky and steep. Below the ocean had thinned so Llaa could see the other side. The ocean was thinning to an inland river. Llaa was delighted by this new vision of land across the ocean! Llaa sat for hours on that second day and marveled at this vision saying, “I am part of this Beauty! I am this smaller ocean below and that other land I see across the ocean. I feel this to be true.”

With eyes closed, Llaa breathed the air deeply and sighed, “The Divine is everywhere and in me, “and in that moment something awakened in Llaa, a spiritual revelation that was the First Awakening. Llaa continued,

“I am One with the Divine. The Divine Flame Lives within me.”

And this was said on a breath of *Reverence and awe – but was almost a question. Then any disbelief was gone and replaced by certainty. “The Divine speaks through the Earth's Beauty. The Divine is in me. *Faith guides me.” There was no arrogance here only certainty and pure revelation. A white light flashed on the horizon of Llaa's mind and the revelation was grounded on Earth.

Llaa rose finally and walked away from the cliff's edge as there was no way down to the water. Although the water was calmer and less foreboding, it was still unapproachable as the cliff face was very steep. There was a different *Feel to the steps taken away from the cliff face. The ground traveled, the air breathed, the visions of Beauty were all a part of what was Unknown which because of Llaa's explorations were now becoming Known.

Everything filled Llaa's Heart and Mind with revelation. The path moved into new territories where there were new plants, new animals – and inevitably new realities. This was partially a spiritual experience and partially a physical one because Llaa did not remember to eat or to rest. Llaa wandered, touched, sighed, and cried at the Beauty of the experience but did not eat or rest.

It was on the tenth day that Llaa collapsed exhausted almost delirious but replete. Basking in the radiance of the Divine embrace of *Faith, Llaa slept feeling at One with What Is, this feeling so profound because *Death was so close.

Llaa didn't know that someone followed close behind, and that this was as it was meant to be. The sixth child found Llaa unconscious. Her superior tracking skills and ability to survive had brought her to Llaa's side about one day into the great sleep. With water, food and Love, Llaa was nursed back to Life.

When Llaa's eyes finally opened two days later, the sixth child was overjoyed – but Llaa, unaware of the gravity of the situation, was only mildly curious about her presence. It was within minutes that Llaa suddenly rose, refreshed, and began to show the sixth child all of the Beauty discovered. The word “Beauty” was shared and spoken by the sixth child, and Llaa noticed that with this sharing of the feelings associated with Beauty, they doubled.

The two continued the journey into the Unknown together with Llaa focused on revelation and the sixth child focused on Loving concern and survival.

My Personal Afterthoughts

Important for us to remember from Part Three:

1) Many of us can resonate with the energy of the obsessed, egocentric spiritual journey that Llaa's journey exemplifies. Although Llaa was *Grateful for those in the community, they are quickly dismissed as the journey is all that matters. This journey supersedes all other concerns even the needs of others and self. It is also deeply *Faith based.

2) The sixth child's role in the unfolding tales is not yet completely clear except for her part as companion and protector. I am sure some of us can already see ourselves in her eyes.

3) When Llaa shared the Beauty with the sixth child the experience doubled. This is true for us today. When we share, we are enriched and our experience is crystallized.

4) Certain spiritual concepts have now been verbalized: “*Faith” in Part Two and “Beauty” in Part Three. To be clear, I do not think these words were in English. It was that the concept or experience was birthed and then consequently labeled. This two part process grounded the spiritual concepts on Earth for the first time.
